Just about every time I take an Omega 3 fish oil capsule I am amazed at how easy that soft gel capsule slides down my throat. It's true. I have trouble sometimes swallowing enteric coated pills, they seem to get stuck in my mouth, but never do I have trouble swallowing soft gels.

We need to take a supplement in the form of Omega 3 capsules to improve the following. The heart, brain, your skin, your vision and of course they help your immune system. I forgot to mention your joints. Omega 3 capsules can be used to treat or prevent quite a number of diseases or disorders.

Please do not go out and buy just any old fish oil capsules or that may be what you get, old fish oil.

Please check out the firm you are going to buy your oil from. If you have the time, go to their website and check that the oil has been purified. Check to see that the oil has been processed close to where the fish are landed, this is for freshness.

Check that the oil has gone through a process called molecular distillation to remove all of the impurities. This will give you the purest oil you can buy.

You may like to check where the fish are sourced from. I buy my fish oil from a company that sources their fish from the cold deep pristine waters of the Southern Ocean. The fish they use is the Hoki, a fish naturally high in Omega 3 fatty acids, especially DHA and EPA the two major fatty acids.

Now if you have children you may find they do not like to swallow large pills, even though they are soft gels. What a friend of mine does is cut the soft gels open and mixes the oil with yogurt. As fresh fish oil has no taste the children love taking fish oil this way.

Things have certainly changed since our mothers used to give us cod liver oil out of a big brown bottle. The taste of that was yuk. That was because fish oil starts to go rancid very quickly when exposed to air. The purpose of the soft gel Omega 3 capsules is that the oil stays fresh. Question by melaniecampbell: DHA and omega 3 for hard to handle children?
I used to give my son a product called "Smart Fish"-- little strawberry flavoured bubbles with moega 3 dha fish oils in them. No stores near where I moved to sell them, and I have noticed a drastic change in him since he stopped taking them. when he took them he was more relaxed, focused better, dealt with tension better... and since he hasn't been taking them (about 3 months) he is harder to handle, loses intrest in activities quickly, and is generally more irritable.

I am asking you two things---

1) Where online can I buy Smart Fish (or a similar product)- has to be a site that accepts paypal (no credit card)

2) Can you send me info or links onto sites that explain WHY omega 3 fish oils work SO well for helping to calm over active flightly children? I am interested in WHY this product worked so well for my son!
